Jamis Halo XCPro build Size 16"
The 27.5” wheel size is not a compromise between 26” or 29”: it’s the best of both worlds. It rails singletrack, floats over trail chatter, is easier to handle and maneuver and allows for lower standover clearances than most 29ers.
Tapered Head Tubes and Fork Steerers
Riding fast with control requires steering precision, which starts with the front of the bike. Stiffening this area results in less wheel deflection, more wheel control. Tapered 1 1/8” to 1.5” head tubes and on the Halo XCT and XC serve up a significant increase in rough terrain tracking and stability without much of a weight penalty compared to standard 1 1/8” systems.
Internal Headsets for Reduced Standover
Halo models feature oversized head tubes with internal headsets reducing the front-end stack height, resulting in lower top tube standover clearances.
Gender Specific Saddles
The saddles on our women’s mountain bikes offer female specific widths and lengths. WTB’s Volt with Luxe Zone utilizes a shape which helps increase power output by properly aligning the sit bones while climbing. A flex tuned shell and relief cut-out increase comfort.
Both the Halo XCT and Halo XC feature forks and shocks that offer adjustable rebound damping, a single valve air spring and an easy to reach lockout lever. They’re light and easily adjusted to suit rider and riding style. Sag gradients are printed right on the shock damper body of the Rock Shox Monarch, making perfect suspension setup simple and accurate.
142 x 12mm Thru-Axles
Securing the rear wheel to the frame by threading it into the rear dropouts is not only safer, it’s also stiffer. Increasing the rear axle diameter from 10mm to 12mm on the Halo XCT makes it only stiffer still. The rear wheel tracks directly in line with the frame, for more precise handling, so you can go faster with more confidence. The 142mm hub dropouts provide a self-centering feature for the rear wheel for faster, easier installation.
15mm Front Thru-Axles
The 15mm QR fork thru-axles on the Halo XCT offers all the benefits of the 20mm thru-axle design (stiffness!) + the benefits of the standard 9mm QR system (quick wheel removal!) without any of the down sides. The weight of the 15mm system is similar to the classic 9mm system (thanks to the lightweight alloy QR axle & reduction in fork leg weight), but it is nearly as stiff as a 20mm freeride thru-axle. The increase in stiffness improves steering & handling significantly. It also puts less stress on the fork’s internals, improving fork durability and performance.
Jamis Lock-On Grips
Our Lock-On grips offer security to ensure no twisting, sliding or migrating even in the roughest, steepest and wettest terrains.
TOP FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
USA made Enduro® Max sealed bearings sustain 40% more load capacity than standard radial bearings & provide more lateral support for the multiple forces associated with mountain bike pivots.
X-Fusion has obsessively focused on producing the highest performance, highest quality and highest value suspension products for mountain bikes since 1999. They pride themselves on building XF products entirely of metal parts because they know it’s what’s on the inside that makes a difference.
Shimano's Deore 36/22T crankset and 11-36T cassette supplies a 2x10 set-up with a wide range of gear ratios to take on any terrain.
Shimano's Deore Shadow Plus rear derailleur features an on/off chain stabilizer system that reduces chain slap and is lighter and more efficient than a roller type chain device.
Enduro®'s external BSA bottom bracket is produced in the USA using Grade 10 Chromium balls that are twice as round as the industry standard. Hardened & polished High Carbon Chromium races yield extremely tough, durable and noiseless ABEC-3 precision.
